Let it Snow - Random thoughts

Well I woke this morning to the first real snow of the year (as in the white fluffy stuff instead of the ice we got yesterday LOL). Fortunately I do not have to work today so I get to sit and watch it snow instead of being out in traffic and dealing with the nuts that tend to try to drive in this. It is beautiful to watch. Now I could do without the 20 degree weather that is along with the snow. I cannot wait to get moved to Oklahoma and not have such bitterly cold weather to deal with.

Scrolling through the list of school closings this morning

I see that apparently the administration out at Winfield has gone retarded again and is having school.. Every other school in the county is closed but they are going... I cannot wait until mom retires from that place. I worry about her having to be out in this kind of crap. Granted she has more experience driving in this kind of weather than anyone i know but I still worry..

The girls both have school today.. But with just a light dusting on the roads there really is nothing to worry about here. At least not unless it starts snowing harder. Of course if it does then they will send the kids home early then we will have to have hot chocolate with our tomato soup and grilled cheese sammiches. :-P

But for the time being I get to look forward to curling up in my nice warm bed and taking a morning nap. Then this afternoon i am going to get some laundry and cleaning done. I also plan to do some writing, blogging and reading.. Yea i know it sounds like a ton of stuff packed into one afternoon but the cleaning part is pretty quick so I am sure I can get a few words blogged, at least a page written, and possibly finish the book I am working on.

I love working with Bitten By Books - www.bittenbybooks.com- and Simply Romance reviews - www.simplyromancereviews.com -. Both sites are run by really great people, and of course getting tons of free books to read is always a plus. With my DS set up to read ebooks I can take a huge collection of books with me wherever i go. Its great. I actually use the ebook software more than any game rom. I do keep games on there as well for the times when i cannot focus enough to read and just want to vedge out.

well it is almost time for the bus to get here to pick up Cheyenne so i am going to cut this ramble off for now and get ready to crawl back into snuggley warm bed once i have little bit off to school for the day.

Be safe, keep warm, and remember to always tell the people you care about that you love them as often as you can.

Bleary Eyed

Well I got 7 book reviews written tonight. Thankfully I do not have to work at the YMCA tomorrow. If I did I would be dead on my feet.

This is about how i feel right now LOL.

Fortunately I am killing the cats, taking a pill, and going to sleep. Tomorrow I plan to get some more writing done, blogs, stories and reviews... As well as cleaning up the house some.

Other than that I am off to Nod..

Love Luck and Lolipops..

New Software to play with

So I took some time and invested in a new software to see if it will make my life any easier maybe make writing a little quicker to so far it seems to work pretty well there aren’t as many errors as I expected and it’s actually kind of fun.

So right now everything around the house is absolutely insane we are taking Mimi in for an assessment this week due to the fact that she uses apparently slipping further and further away in the aspect that she’s constantly lying to everyone and it’s just I can’t even put into words what we’ve been going through. I’m hoping that with this assessment we will be able to come up with a treatment plan will best benefit her and help us to learn to cope with what’s going on.

Things are so stressful right now I just don’t know what to do anymore, I just go to work every day, come home, take care of Jim and the kids, and how things go relatively smooth for the evening.

Emotionally and physically this is the most taxing experience I’ve ever had in my life. That itself on its all said and done everything is better and at least we have a better handle on things, but truly only time will tell.

I was going through my photo up on this morning and found a poster that pretty much describes what I feel like these days.

While I guess it’s time to get ready for work and see how today goes.

Maybe a play around the software some more tonight and get some of my book reviews done and maybe even get some writing in.

2008 Japanese Festival

SUMO - TAIKO - and some damn good Japanese food LOL That is what my Labor day consisted of. Jim, Bryan, Eddie, Mimi, and Cheyenne and I went to the Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden. As always it was a blast. It was so great to have Jim with us this year (last year he did not feel up to coming along) even if his wheel chair did break (AGAIN).

Though I have found that calling the corporate headquarters scares the crap out of a local office and gets things moving faster. Not only are they sending me a new wheel for the front they are sending a spare just in case and they got back with me Today as opposed to the 2 months it took last time LOL. I love it ;-)

But back to the festival. We did some shopping ( I got a great cotton Kimono to use as a robe that actually fits right - reaches the floor on my 6ft 2 in person LOL) found the place we are going to get Cheyenne’s halloween costume (she wants to be a Japanese maiden so we are getting her a kimono and obi) we have to go to the shop because they didn’t have her size left at the festival, no big deal this way she has lots to choose from.

At one point i lost Jim and Bryan, once jim finally answered his phone (LOL) I met up with them in the Bonsai display Here are a couple of our favorite Bonsai:

Bryan took a TON of pictures of the Bonsai so I will have to pester him for copies of all his pictures too :-)

We also saw the Taiko Drums, as always they were awesome, and of course the SUMO which is always my favorite.

Uncle Fats (Koryu) and Tyler (Sunahama) put on a great show and everyone had a blast.

During the Taiko Cheyenne got a little bored so I took her over to the fountain to play

She was SOAKED LOL.

On the way out I took jim over to see the floating globes in one of the reflecting pools

After the gardens we went to IHOP for dinner. Then we toodled home to collapse LOL.

All in all we had a wonderful day as a family. And other than my getting sunburn (silly me wore a tank top and no Sunscreen...) and everyone being exhausted when we finally got home, none of us were the worse for wear.

Now it is back to the Grind- Planning Mimi’s 16th birthday party, work, and the home stuffs LOL. But it was a nice day away from the norm. I can’t wait till next year.

Japanese Festival WOOHOO

http://www.mobot.org/events/japanesefestival/

Alright all. It is that time of year again.. Time for the Japanese Festival at the Botanical Gardens. August 30, 31, and September 1.

I am off work all weekend, Jim has a hot set of wheels so we can cruise all day long, they have Taiko and Sumo.. Who wants to come with us..

*grin*What day do we want to go? *bounces happily* WOOHOO

Can you tell I really like the Japanese festival.. It is one of my favorite events at the Gardens. And the fact that I have the weekend off (Job at the YMCA that i started earlier this month is going great BTW) and actually have a little money means I am SOOOOO going LOL ;-)

Changes....

New days

There have been alot of events in the last few weeks that have kept me from my writing and my journals..

1. New developments int he case against Mimi’s Mom. *chuckle* I have a feeling things will turn out Juuuust fine on that front.

2. New Ink - I got a new tattoo, well actually I had the butterflies for Cheyenne and Mimi added to the flower tattoo that i share with my sister. Pics will be posted asap :-)

3. New Job - I started training for Member services at the Edward Jones YMCA in maryland heights this week. I will be working with Marylynn and so far all the people I have met that work there have been pretty nice so i think I will really enjoy it.

4. New School Year for the Kids. Cheyenne started school on the 14th and Mimi starts on the 18th so there was shopping for clothes and school supplies, then meeting Cheyenne’s teacher and getting her off on her first day of school. Then Monday I get to see Mimi off for her first day. I think this is going to be a good year for them both.

Sooo all in all things are going well here. Knee hurts (diagnosed with arthritis) but tylenol usually knocks that out and if its bad i have vicodin as a backup. Jim is.. Jim. He has not gotten any worse but he has not gotten any better either. I look forward to being able to get him up to work a couple days a week and get him exercising again to try and regain some strength, the PT did him worlds of good so with all the equipment right there there is no reason he cant do what he did there only at the Y and not so stinking expensive. My only stress is figuring out what we are going to do about health insurance come october (hopefully we will get accepted for state assistance on that front) and trying not to strangle all the cats LOL..

All in all though Life is good;)

Today, I cleaned up your mess

This is a striking comment but one that needs to be seen:

You decided that you wanted to move to an apartment that didn't allow
pets (and by the way, landlords are forbidden to do this in Toronto).
I don't know what lured you. Maybe it was a boyfriend or a
girlfriend. Maybe it was a great view. Maybe you liked the woodwork.
At any rate, it was more important to you than she was. So you took
her down to the shelter, still wearing her cute little pink leopard
collar with a bow, and you cheerfully wrote on the card that she was
very healthy for her age and friendly and just likes to sleep in the
sun! I guess you knew her pretty well - you put her birthday down on
the card, too, making me believe you've probably had her for her
entire life.

Then you left, secure in your rationalization that somehow, in the
midst of kitten season, your seventeen year old cat would find a
home. The shelter took a picture of her scared face and big eyes and
put it on the web.

For two weeks, I looked at that picture. I hoped someone else would
see her fear and feel compelled to help her, but the public wasn't
seeing her. She was back in isolation, getting vitamin B shots and
subcutaneous fluids. The tech wrote "depressed" on her card. I'm not
surprised. I'd be depressed too if I went from "sleeping in the sun"
to a metal cage with a thin layer of newspaper.

Finally today, I couldn't stand it anymore. I felt too guilty
thinking about her sitting in that cage at her age. So I went down
and I got her, and now she's curled up on a fleece baby blanket in a
cat tree in my bathroom. When I go in there, she rubs her head on my
hand.

Today, I cleaned up your mess. I felt worse for your cat than you
did. And all over the city, other rescuers did the same. They rescued
your abandoned cats and dogs and bunnies and exotics. And we all
wondered the same thing as we did it: How could you create this
situation? How is it that you feel no remorse? How is it that you
were you able to walk away from an animal you shared your home with
for a year, ten years, fifteen years, knowing that they might die
because of your actions?

I'll never meet you to ask you those questions. I just hope I meet
the person who will be good enough to give your baby that sunny spot
to sleep for the rest of her life (however long that is). She
deserves it, and it's a crying shame you didn't have the decency to
give it to her.

This was originally posted in 2006. I am emailing this because the
message hasn't sunk in! I am hoping that just a a few people, well at
least one person, passes this on.

Well today is my birthday (well was as it is almost time to go to bed.) All in all it was a great day.

Mom, Dona and Grandma came in from the country, Roger, Bryan, Sarah Jane and Sami, Eddie and Cheyenne all came over. I was even pleasantly surprised when Momma Kathleen and Pappa Joe, and Joe’s son James, showed up for a brief visit.

I opened presents, we had cake and visited for a while then Mom n Co when home, Sarah Jane and Sami took off to take Lilly for her Sunday run, and Eddie took Mimi to church and Chey to a movie.

So that left Jim, me, Roger and Bryan for dinner. We ordered Ciceros and relaxed to watch a movie and shoot the shit. After dinner we finished the movie and the guys went home.

Mimi and Chey just got home and have toodled off to bed. Which is where I am headed after I post this journal entry and finish uploading the pics from today :-).

Truthfully, though we didn’t do anything fancy or go anywhere special this was one of the best birthdays I can remember. I had a ton of family around me, lots of laughter and love. It was awesome. If I could change anything I would have a few people who were not able to be here around, but they are in my heart and thoughts so that is alright.

Well here are a few pics from today then I am off to dreamland.

Littel Rabbit's 1st Borthday

July 9th was my god sons first birthday. We didn’t do anything to fancy but I did pick up some cupcakes and Jim, Mimi, Cheyenne and I went over to Lloyd and Marylynn’s house.

When we got there they were on the back porch with Liam (LittleRabbit) in his pool.

HPIM0399

After he played for a while we got out his little cake and passed out all the cupcakes. He had a BLAST with his cake and though he tried to bite Cheyenne’s fingertip off LOL (The little Emperor had his concubine feeding him LOL) everyone had a great time watching him dive into his cake.

HPIM0409

At first he was hesitant but as he went on

HPIM0423

he started to get into it...

HPIM0426

And in no time he was covered in cake and we were all laughing so hard we were about to bust..

HPIM0431

Happy Birthday Little Man..

Cheyenne's direct dial VRS number.

Ok so this is a direct number you can dial that will connect you to an interpreter then to cheyenne’s Sorenson video phone in her room.

For the time being if you want to call her please call me first so I can 1 make sure she is home and 2 switch the tv over to the phone feed. Cheyenne is still learning how to do everything with it.

This is Cheyenne and her kitten Muffin by the way LOL.

Bammit

Ok so my entries have been sporatic... I suck.. I have not been writing or blogging in ages... That has got to get better. I am only making myself more aggrivated each day I dont get something on paper. Sooooo Here I am. Monday I go to the dr to get my knee looked at. It has been bothering me for weeks now and i guess it is time to bite the bullet and get the damn thing looked at.

Last week was Liam's 1st birthday. We brought cupcakes and had a little get together on the back porch. that kid is so darn cute.

My birfday is on Sunday. I will be 31 and all we are doing is getting together here at my house. ( I am going to get Mimi to help me tormorrow to clean the house as my birfday present) Nothing exciting but it will be nice to have all my family and a few friends together.

So I amgoing to go I think and take a nap then I will get up this afernoon and write. I did get a copy of the writers book of days and that i think will be a fun tool.. I will also post some psictures of Liam's birfday and the kittens;)
